DC fast chargers on Indonesia’s public network generally use the CCS2 connector, which matches the EVs we rent, and AC charging uses the common Type 2 plug. Can You Charge at Your Hotel or Villa?
Sometimes. A number of resorts in the south — Nusa Dua and Seminyak especially — are beginning to offer destination charging, and some villas can support careful overnight charging where the wiring allows. How Long Does Charging Take?
Depends on the car and the charger, so honest ranges only: a DC fast-charge top-up during lunch is typically well under an hour, while AC charging is a several-hour, park-and-forget affair best done overnight. Most renters doing normal South Bali days find one or two charging stops per week entirely sufficient.

A few habits make public charging in Bali smooth for everyone — and they are the same ones we brief at every handover:
- Charge to what you need, not always to 100% — freeing the bay faster matters at busy southern stations.
- Move the car once the session ends; a full EV parked at a charger is the local pet peeve, same as anywhere.
- Top up during natural stops — mall runs, long lunches, temple visits — rather than making charging its own errand.

- Heading east or north? Leave the southern belt with a high state of charge and treat mid-route stations as insurance.
Do You Need to Plan Charging for Longer Routes?
Only for the far corners. Ubud trips anchor on Gianyar’s stations — context on the Ubud rental page — while north-coast runs to Lovina should include a Candikuning stop, and east-coast trips toward Amed lean on Klungkung and Karangasem.
