Where can you rent an electric car in Bali?
Anywhere on the island. We deliver electric vehicles to Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Canggu, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Uluwatu, Pecatu, Sanur, Denpasar, Ubud, Tabanan, Sidemen, Candidasa, Lovina and Amed. The southern beach belt has Bali’s densest charging network, while routes to the east and north simply need light range planning — both are covered in the tables below.
Distances and drive times from Bali Airport to each area
The figures below are real-world ranges, not brochure numbers. The lower end reflects quiet hours; the upper end reflects typical daytime traffic. During peak congestion — roughly 8–10 AM and 4–7 PM — journeys can take 40–60% longer than usual, so plan airport pick-ups and day trips around those windows where you can.

Nusa Dua, Sanur and Denpasar can use the Bali Mandara toll road; Seminyak, Canggu, Ubud, Uluwatu and the east and north routes travel on ordinary roads with no toll at all.
How good is EV charging along these routes?
Better than most visitors expect. Bali had around 230 public charging units (SPKLU) across 164 locations by the end of 2025, concentrated in the south and centre of the island. Fast charging carries a service fee of Rp933.22 per kWh and ultra-fast charging Rp1,133.22 per kWh, with SPKLU electricity prices capped at Rp2,467 per kWh — so a full top-up usually costs far less than refuelling a comparable petrol car.
- South belt: the airport, Kuta/Seminyak (including Beachwalk Shopping Center), Jimbaran, ITDC Nusa Dua, Sanur and Denpasar — the densest coverage on the island.
- Centre: Gianyar regency for the Ubud side, Bangli/Kintamani, and Candikuning (Bedugul) on the mountain route north.
- West of Canggu: Munggu and Mengwi are the nearest confirmed points to the Canggu core.
- East and north: Klungkung, Karangasem, Singaraja and Seririt cover the long routes to Candidasa, Amed and Lovina.
Is an electric car’s range enough for Bali road trips?
For most itineraries, comfortably. Bali is compact — even the longest airport route, to Amed, is roughly 97 km one way. A Wuling Air EV with real-world range around 200–300 km depending on variant covers days of southern beach-belt driving between charges, while an EV road trip to Lovina or Amed simply needs one planned charging stop en route.
Do you pay tolls when driving an EV in Bali?
Only on one road. The Bali Mandara toll links the airport, Benoa and Nusa Dua across the bay, and a car pays a flat Rp14,000 (Class I tariff, in force since April 2024). Every other route in this guide — Seminyak, Canggu, Ubud, Uluwatu and beyond — uses ordinary roads with no toll charges.
