Which Electric Car Should a Digital Nomad Rent for a Month?

Yes — Canggu monthly EV hire is our single most common long-stay request, and we deliver to Berawa, Batu Bolong, Pererenan and Umalas villas with the delivery fee quoted upfront. One honest note: central Canggu has no named public charging station in our verified data, so monthly renters there usually charge at Munggu or Mengwi nearby, or top up on Seminyak runs. What Do You Need for a Long Term Rental in Bali?
A passport, a valid home-country licence plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) for self-drive, and a WhatsApp number we can reach you on. Deposit and paperwork terms vary by model and length of stay, so we confirm both in your quote rather than publishing a one-size figure that would not survive contact with a real booking.

How Does Charging Work When You Live in Bali?
Better than most nomads expect: Bali had 230 public charging units across 164 locations by the end of 2025, concentrated along the southern belt where most long-stay renters live. Many villas can also arrange overnight charging where the wiring allows — tell us your villa area and we will advise honestly before you commit to a model.
On handover we follow standard Bali practice: the car arrives with a high state of charge, and you return it reasonably charged rather than full-to-full. Day-to-day, most monthly renters settle into one or two short charging stops per week.
Can You Swap Cars During a Long Stay?
Usually, yes. Plenty of nomads start a month in a Wuling Air EV, decide they want more range for weekend trips, and step up to a Binguo or MG4 for the next month. On rolling terms we treat a model swap as a normal request rather than a new contract — availability permitting — and we will tell you upfront if the car you want is not free for your dates.
The reverse works too: if the bigger car turns out to be overkill for your Canggu-to-cowork commute, downgrading at the next monthly renewal simply lowers the rate.
Weekly, Monthly or Rolling — Which Term Should You Choose?
Book weekly if your visa run schedule is uncertain; the premium over monthly is the price of flexibility. Book monthly at 28–30 days for the best published band. For three months or longer, ask for rolling monthly terms — an EV subscription in all but name, with one recurring rate and the option to swap models between months where availability allows.
