Can you charge an EV in Canggu or Uluwatu?
Plan as if the answer is no. Our sources confirm no named SPKLU in central Canggu or on the Bukit peninsula around Uluwatu; the nearest confirmed points for Canggu are Munggu and Mengwi, while Uluwatu drivers should charge in Nusa Dua or Jimbaran before heading up the hill.
That is less inconvenient than it sounds. Canggu sits 18–20 km from the airport, a full battery covers days of local driving, and most EV charging Canggu Bali questions resolve to a simple habit: top up at Munggu or Mengwi on your way in or out. Gianyar, the regency Ubud belongs to, has confirmed SPKLU coverage, but no charging point in Ubud’s core shows up by name in our verified sources. If charging an electric car in Ubud is central to your plan, treat Gianyar town as your anchor and arrive with a healthy battery before you settle into the rice-field lanes.
The central mountain corridor is better served than most people expect. The Tabanan–Bedugul route has a confirmed point at Candikuning, and Bangli/Kintamani coverage means a Mount Batur sunrise mission is realistic in an EV. Ubud itself is 37–38 km from the airport, typically 60–105 minutes in real traffic.
Which chargers cover East, North and West Bali?
Long-haul routes need more deliberate planning, but every compass point has confirmed infrastructure:
- East: Klungkung and Karangasem both have SPKLU — the anchors for Candidasa (around 62 km) and Sidemen (around 47 km) trips.

Yes — the official tariff framework defines both fast charging and ultra fast charging tiers, and stations across the network use them. What is not published is the exact speed of each individual station, so plan by location rather than by kilowatts. Depending on the car, a substantial fast-charge top-up takes anywhere from about 30 minutes to a little over an hour.
How much does public charging cost in Bali?
Fast charging carries a service fee of Rp933.22 per kWh, capped at Rp25,000 per session; ultra fast charging costs Rp1,133.22 per kWh, capped at Rp57,000 per session. The electricity itself is capped at Rp2,467 per kWh, so even a big session usually lands between Rp50,000 and Rp130,000 — a few US dollars.
